San Antonio, TX — The Texas Outdoor Recreation Alliance (TxORA) and the Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO) are proud to announce a partnership aimed at advancing collaboration across Texas’s outdoor recreation economy and amplifying the collective voice of the communities they serve.
This partnership brings together two influential organizations committed to supporting the growth, sustainability, and visibility of Texas’s outdoor recreation sector—from campgrounds and RV parks to trail systems, outfitters, and nature-based tourism. By aligning efforts, TxORA and TACO will work to elevate member priorities, promote outdoor economic development, and advocate for policies that benefit outdoor businesses and communities statewide.
“This partnership is about more than shared goals—it’s about shared impact,” said Alex Brown, Executive Director of TxORA. “Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected outdoor economy that celebrates the regionality and vitality of Texas’ landscapes and communities.”
Key initiatives under the partnership will include:
● Joint advocacy campaigns that reinforce the impact of local outdoor economies
● Cross-promotional opportunities and spotlights for TxORA and TACO member/partner organizations
● Collaborations that deliver education and forums to foster dialogue and community engagement
Brain Schaeffer, CEO of TACO, added, “We feel that today’s campers and hikers will be tomorrow’s RVers and it is critical for all Texans, but particularly the youth of Texas, to experience our vast state from an outdoor perspective. This partnership aligns with those values.”
This partnership marks a significant step toward building an engaged and resilient outdoor recreation ecosystem—one that supports small businesses, protects natural resources, and invites all Texans to explore the great outdoors.
